The M6 is a model of a wing designed by ONERA. The model underwent a series of wind tunnel tests under transonic conditions. Despite the simple geometry of the M6 wing, the transonic flow involved is complex, including local supersonic flow, shock waves, and boundary layer separation. The M6 wing has the typical characteristics of three-dimensional compressible flow, so it has been selected by a large number of papers as a verification example for CFD code.
